COUGAR TOWN: 'Full Moon Fever' (#3.04). One look is all it takes for Bobby to fall for Travis' photography professor, but Travis refuses to introduce them; Laurie falls for a guy she's never met when she begins a romance, via twitter, with a soldier in Iraq; and Jules and Andy prepare to go to war against an unruly gang of kids on bikes who are terrorizing the cul-de-sac.
Cougar Town may not be the best comedy on TV, but it's certainly one of the better ones that no one is watching. It get's better with time. Last nights episode was no exception. The storyline of Jules and Andy trying to stop those asshole kids from riding bikes through their yards was great, especially the end with the whole Braveheart thing. I love how Jules is completely ignorant to classic movies...she had no clue what Braveheart even was. Ha. Sara Chalke returns to TV with a guest appearance as a potential new love interest to Bobby. Her interactions with Travis were all really good, especially in the end when Travis is explaining why he cheated on his report and she was clearly ignoring him. This was just another solid episode of Cougar Town. Shame it's probably about to be cancelled. Grade: A-

NEW GIRL: 'Injured' (#1.15). When Nick is hurt playing a game of touch football and Jess discovers he doesn't have insurance, she brings him to her doctor friend - an OB-GYN. The gang rallies together and Nick evaluates his life when his seemingly innocuous back injury may prove to be more serious than thought.
Oh my gosh, another amazingly hilarious romp of an episode for New Girl, one of the funniest new shows on TV! This is one of the sweetest episodes of the season, you really see the love this gang of friends has for each other, even if it's awkard and uncomfortable for all of them. This episode proves that the writing on this show is right up there with the big boys over at Modern Family and other shows like that. Every time Schmidt opens his mouth, you know it's going to be something ridiculous but funny. We also got to see a big step forward in the inevitable Jess and Nick relationship. They were all googly eyed towards each other, pretty hard core this time around. I just love the hell out of this show. It's so gosh damn funny! Last night's episode just kept it on going strong. THE RIVER: 'Doctor Emmet Cole' (#1.6). The Magus crew continue their trek to the Sahte Falls where they discover Emmet's camera bag. Upon further examination of the tapes within it, they find some powerful footage of Emmet that shows him spiraling out of control, and it leads the crew further into the Amazon. Meanwhile, Lena reveals a secret she's been carrying to a fellow crew member.
I was starting to get a bit nervous on the direction of this show the past few weeks. It seemed to be developing into a freak of the week show and laying low on the hunt for Emmet Cole aspect. It seemed the crew of the Magus wasn't really moving forward (metaphorically) on their main goal. But last nights episode sucked me right back in with not only THE best episode of it's young season, but possibly the best episode of television I've seen this year. It was a remarkably daring and unsettling hour of TV. Most of the episode finally focused on Emmet Cole, the man everyone is looking for. Bruce Greenwood shines in this episode, and gives an extremely Emmy worthy, knock out performance that shows his slow spiral into madness. It also gives us a much needed huge insight to what happened to him and where he might finally be found. This episode is why I love this show. It was absolutely incredible! Greenwood carried this one on his shoulders. Not to mention it was creepy with all that whistling and animal skinning. It also had a guest appearance by Paranormal Activity star Katie Featherston...ironically holding a camera the whole time. Anyway, best show of the night...best episode of the season so far. Grade: A+
